Meet Our Team.

Teams don't work without teamwork. And good teamwork creates synergy.
Here at Strategic Moves, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

Viswa Sadasivan
Managing Consultant

To put it shortly, Viswa is a patriot. He believes in serving his country until his “knees buckle” – something he takes perhaps a little too literally. His knees have indeed started to buckle! He stepped down from active National Service in March 2018, after being an NSman with the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for 40 years.

A former anchor of news and current affairs programmes such as Talking Point and Today in Parliament, Viswa thrived on asking inconvenient – oftentimes provocative – questions while sharing insights about Singapore society. His aim: to “lift the thinking”. 25 years on, he has the same preoccupation. Except now, his audience has shifted from star-struck aunties to public and private sector leaders.

Clearly surpassing his other achievements, his proudest moment was when his daughter was born. Viswa strongly believes in pursuing a healthy work-life balance, although his work ethic never leaves him. Going for every ball in tennis – twice a week for two decades – he’s had some sobering lessons on ageing! It has forced him to explore other options, such as swimming and cycling, while playing tennis age-appropriately.

Viswa graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences (Political Science) degree. He also holds a Master in Public Administration degree from the Kennedy School of Government and Administration, Harvard University.

JENNY SEET
general manager | Executive Assistant to MAnaging Consultant

Jenny has been with Strategic Moves for more than a decade. She is responsible for general office management and all administrative functions. Essentially, she oversees the smooth running of operations in the company; from orientating new members of the team to managing the company’s finances and the CEO’s busy schedule. There is no doubt that Jenny forms the backbone of the company.

When Jenny is not busy being well-versed on all office-related processes and procedures, she enjoys watching musical plays and, of course, sipping on a great cup of coffee.

daphne lim
Adjunct senior consultant

Daphne is a lover of life who secretly fancies herself an artist. She begins her mornings grateful to be alive, and ends her nights reflecting in a journal. Her sketch-journalling habit explains her obsession with fountain pens and watercolour palettes. She joined Strategic Moves to make her days worth writing about, as she believes in the company's mission to better the world by provoking deeper thought on important issues.

She received Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts degrees in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from the University of Oxford, on a scholarship from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB). While at EDB, she helped transform Singapore into a world-class education hub. The feather in her cap from that time - INSEAD Asia Campus - now sits 700 metres from her current office. Talk about coming full circle! Coincidentally, both locations are served by the Circle Line MRT. She still can't decide whether this connection is meant to be, or just corny.

In the intervening years, she taught thinking methods to thousands of executives in the public and private sectors, all over the Asia Pacific region. Her greatest satisfaction came from seeing management teams significantly reduce meeting times, and enabling research teams to generate outside-the-box ideas in less than a day. And her personal favourite was helping individuals and organisations to simplify products and processes.

When Daphne's brain needs a time-out, she cycles round the world to see places and people as they really are, off the beaten tourist track. She rode around islands like Taiwan and Tasmania, and across countries from Seoul to Busan, Singapore to Penang, and John O'Groats to Land's End. These arduous trips cured her of the travel bug, and she is now happy to throw a frisbee with friends on a local muddy field, where there are bugs of different kinds.

IAN NG
Senior consultant

Ian believes that meaningful change takes place through conversations. The enabling attitude is that to see change in the world, first listen to what the world is saying. This belief has guided Ian throughout his career, first in the area of talent management and leadership development consulting at Kincentric (formerly known as Aon), and now with Strategic Moves.

Growing up in a family of ballet dancers (his father teaches while his older brother is a professional), Ian contemplated going down a similar route, but his time in National Service proved to be a turning point. Ian witnessed firsthand the importance of good leadership in strong nation building, down to the newest recruit. Over the years, experiences and lessons gleaned through university, internships and work have helped further augment a keen interest in leadership - especially in the public sector.

Out of work, Ian enjoys travelling solo and counts Vietnam as one of his favourite destinations. He also looks forward to having good conversations with friends, preferably over a cup of tea. He continues to dance ballet recreationally.

Ian graduated cum laude from Singapore Management University with a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Political Science.

GRACELYN TAN
ASSOCIATE consultant

Gracelyn believes that people are made to discover. Be it starting a new venture, organising a community service project, or managing an intergenerational dance team, she is always on the move.

If anything, Gracelyn's adventures have taught her that a small group of thoughtful, concerned individuals can be a powerful force in their spheres of influence. She joined the team to be part of the conversation on how to lead with influence.

Out of work, Gracelyn captures her everyday life in pictures to remember the things that matter. She graduated from Nanyang Technological University with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Public Policy & Global Affairs.
